Wow!! What a loco -BR green Deltic arrived today (24hrs ahead of schedule!!). I had been a bit dubious about the development of this model through it's various incarnations - I needn't have worried, the result is stunning! A very well done to Len and the SMR Team.

I've 'loaned' THE ROYAL NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS to BR Southern Region to head the new Golden Arrow coaches which arrived in the same delivery. Again, stunning models and as Kevin has said, well worth the wait!

As per the instructions I am running it in and its smooth running is commendable in both directions, with working lights and the sound which is very realistic. So I have Black, Grey, Blue and Maroon liveries. The Maroon livery is especially poignant as I have driven the real thing in that livery at Loughborough. Amazing machines. Ace Trains '0' Gauge Churchward 2-6-0 locomotive and tender in early BR livery.

I am very pleased with this locomotive, which was securely packed and safely delivered by UPS to my home address. I had asked for an example of this engine to be reserved when I first read about it on the Station Master's Rooms website, and I chose the early unlined black version (with BR insignia) because that is how I remember this class of engines at work in the Worcester - Gloucester - Hereford areas, to which I used to be a fairly frequent visitor.

The model is well made, and seems to me to capture very well the distinctive shape and proportions of the real locomotive, and I am looking forward to having an opportunity to run it on a layout.

Kevin of the Station Master's Rooms has always replied promptly and helpfully to my various communications, and the service has been excellent.

. Couldn't believe my eyes. Just had to have it because I bought a new Inferno Red diesel PTCruiser in 2003. Still got the touch up paint. LOL. Obviously the wheels are coarse scale and slightly bottom out on Peco track. Got some Peco RO7 wagon wheels on the way should fit with a bit of fettling. Well happy.

I was and am particularly fascinated by the MTH Duchess of Atholl which makes convincing sounds of escaping steam before chuffing away in perfect time with its pistons.Only my cat remains unimpressed,probably because he regards hissing as his own prerogative. Usual fast delivery and perfectly packed item from the Stationmaster. This time the truly iconic Bing for Bassett Lowke Gauge1 live steam Midland Railway 4-4-0 Compound in LMS livery. A superb near scale model in excellent original livery with just some minor touch ins required. Reminds me vividly of those days at the Midland side of Bristol Temple Meads in the early 1960's watching the Compounds leaving on the Birmingham and York expresses. Nice one Kevin !!

Please accept my apologies for the delay in my confirming that,as ever,the two most recent engines arrived safely and remarkably promptly. l have had several health issues recently and my normal timetable has been,like Northern Rail,overcrowded and much delayed.
I am so glad that l chose the Schools Class engine in Matt black. This makes the brass and polished steel details stand out, though in my brief encounter with the Schools,they all looked dirty and unloved but so then did most locos except those on the GWR. The Schools needed no attention apart from the usual running in with a new machine. Sir Eustace Missenden was a little more challenging initially as it would run only on 3 rail format..Eventually,I realised that the pickup studs on one side were not making contact with the driving wheels so, problem solved,

I am pleased with the transaction. The condition of the model is as described. However, as it is set up for DCC, it understandably could not be fully tested, so some history would have bee very helpful.

Fast, efficient, well packed, good updates, excellent service, website pretty good. However once or twice little disorientated on web site, ended up not where I wanted to be or expected to be so lost confidence.

Lovely model, as promised, a bit more modification had been done than I had hoped and a bit of tweeking was required for the loco to run on LMC track. However, all in all I am very happy, a relatively scarce loco at a reasonable price.

Over a long period of years I have bought numerous O Gauge items from The Station Masters Rooms. At no time have I been disappointed by the spares and models I received. The Hornby 101 Tank Set particularly is complete with track connectors, spare coupler and invitation from Roland Hornby to join the 'Hornby Company' collectors club. Amazingly the guarantee is in the box as well, but I suspect that it is a bit out of date! This item is special as my brother and I had a later version of that set (I think that it dates from the 40s, whereas ours was 50s, without the LNER branding). I thoroughly recommend The Station Masters Rooms and the service from Kev.

Yet again,both locos which I ordered from SMR last week,arrived promptly on the stated day. They were very securely wrapped in three layers of cardboard and cushioned by generous amounts of bubble wrap.The locos,both Duchesses,are in immaculate condition and run very smoothly with that gentle whispering sound which seems to be a characteristic of the larger Ace locos.My only problem lies in persuading my sister to allow me to construct a larger layout in what she persists in calling the guest bedroom.

Kevin, I am more than happy to send you feedback on my latest purchases. Firstly,I was amazed at how quickly the delivery was made - less than 24hours from my placing the order to its delivery in Bolton.You really are very efficient in your rapid despatch of orders and very thorough in your packing process. The W.D. 2.10.0 now runs well - still on 0-12 volts but with a different controller.It makes a clanking noise when speeded up which amazingly echoes the sound once made by the full size engines when running at more than walking pace.Duke of Gloucester,like all the Ace Pacifics I have bought from you ,runs with satin smoothness on the lowest setting on my controller.The motion of the rotary camshaft is almost hypnotic. I haven't finished buying yet.Apart from the SE&C R 4-4-0 I hear that Ace intend to build a rebuilt Merchant Navy ....With my best wishes ,Chris.

I was very pleased with my last order Hornby O gauge "Lattice footbridge" It arrived the next day which is always great with SMR. I needed this for a project I am doing.
